Yep, that’s right Ascension is moving to Dallas on Saturdays inside The Crave Bar.

Review of The Electro-Nexus Festival Featuring Cause & Effect

Review of the C&E Show

Sorry it has taken me so long to post a review of the Electro-Nexus Festival. My baby and I went to San Antonio to see the Covenant show the next night, then I needed some time off to re-coop from the show.

THIS SHOW ROCKED! It was our best attendance EVER! We were a little late in sound checks, but all the bands were working together to help each other out.

Apparatus took the stage and it was great to see these guys perform again. It so reminded me of the Old Days when these guys were IT! Keep on rockin guys I feel another show needs to be done soon.

Outsource- What can I say about Matthew and the band. Matthew was a tremendous help before, during and after the show. He is one of the most professional people I ever worked with. I had never had the opportunity to see his band live and was extremely impressed when they took the stage. Alex from Provision got up on stage and sang with Matthew during his set and that was truly amazing. NO ROCK-N-Roll ATTITUDE HERE. I look forward to working with him again in the NEAR future. Love ya Matt and thank the rest of the band for me as well. You guys have a GREAT Future ahead of you. Keep up the good work.

Solemn Assembly- Joe is my hero/mentor and everything else DJ. He has helped me in the past with promotions and learning about the club business. I have total respect for Joe and what he does and not to mention that Solemn Assembly KICKS ASS! He also had Breye from Provision get up on stage and sing a song with hem as well. Again I say, NO ROCK-N-ROLL ATTITUDE HERE! Keep paying attention to this band because they too are going places!

Provision- HMMMMMMM Provision, you know I have worked with Breye and the gang for a while and I have developed not only a GREAT business relationship but also and personal relationship with all of them. I cannot say enough good things about this band. They have so much spunk in what they do and they DO IT Very well. There stage presence is like no other band I have ever seen. They are by far the hardest working band in this scene today. I also expect GREAT things from them in the future.

Cause & Effect- OH MY GOD! I think I nearly wet my self when they took the stage. I have been looking forward to seeing them for a long time. They came on a little late but were great sports about it all. We got them sound checked and out the door so they could go eat and rest a little while. Once they got back, we had a reporter from the Dallas Observer there to interview them. They were very humble and very excited to see that they had such great fans who still knew who the hell the were. They put on a GREAT set and played well beyond 2:00 AM. If you get the chance to see them live I suggest you do it and do it soon!

Thanks to everyone who helped out on the show such as DJ Ragnorok, unitcode:machine and anyone else I might have forgot, I could not have done it without you guys. Also to my team, Reactive who kept me calm weeks/days prior to the show, I LOVE YOU BABY, and Son of Sam for handling the sound and all the bands throughout the night. SAM YOU ROCK BUDDY DON”T EVER FORGET THAT! We had several photographers there so I will have those photos posted soon.

So chime in if you were there and let me know you thoughts on this show. BUT from the Ascension staff and myself, DJ Apocalypse we thank you for making The Electro-Nexus Festival the greatest event we have done to date. Stay tuned, because Ascension has some GREAT show lined up for this summer. More details to come soon.

So Very Busy and Stressed These Days

Good God I have so much going on these days, between the club and work, my daughter and the girl I love it leaves not much time for anything else. The club is going GREAT we have finally starting getting successful nights and we have a show announcement that will top everything else we have done in the past. Can't say much now other that it will be a festival with at least 5 bands opening up for a national act I am very excited but it has been very stressful putting it together. I know many people have heard me say it before but "Good God I wish I could just be a DJ and not a promoter" But then again I would probably not give it up for the world, I think that it is in my blood and what I want to do for a living....ah well probably just a pipe dream.

Work is great I have been here over a month and the pay is good and the people for the most part are nice. I love it cuz I can work on my website and live journal and have the ability to instant message as well. I am hoping that soon I will be made full time and start getting insurance and other corporate stuff but for now it will do.

Ah, the love of my life. She is great! (What is surprises you that my love is a she?)
It seems funny to me to travel around the world only to end up meeting someone who is from the same hometown as me. Is it fate? I think so. God, I love her, and I am hoping within the next few months we will take the next step. Not to mention that my daughter loves her and to my amazement so does my ex-wife. What more could a man ask for?

Speaking of my daughter, she graduates from Kindergarten tomorrow 05-08-03 I am so excited and amazed as to how quickly she is growing up. I remember when she was first born and I sang my little song to her that I sang when she was in her mother's womb and she looked up to me with those big blues eyes and smiled, that was probably the closest to God that I ever felt. Although the smile was followed by an enormous fart but hey, you take what you can get.
